I manage a remote team that creates training videos, and we're constantly evaluating different tools. What I need is a solid video editing software features comparison that focuses on what actually matters for content creators.

Most comparisons I see are either too technical or too superficial. I want to know things like: which software handles multi-cam editing best on a budget, which has the most intuitive color grading tools, which exports fastest without quality loss.

Has anyone done a thorough video editing software features comparison specifically for content creation workflows? I'm especially interested in how different tools handle common tasks like adding captions, managing assets, and collaborating with team members.
I've done extensive video editing software features comparison for content creation workflows. Here's what I've found:

For multi-cam editing: Final Cut Pro has the smoothest workflow, but DaVinci Resolve's free version is surprisingly capable. Premiere Pro requires more setup but offers more control.

For color grading: DaVinci Resolve wins hands down, even in the free version. The color science and tools are professional-grade.

For collaboration: Adobe's Team Projects in Premiere Pro is the most developed, but it requires everyone to have a subscription. DaVinci Resolve's collaboration features are improving but still behind.

For speed: Final Cut Pro generally renders fastest on Mac, while DaVinci Resolve leverages GPU acceleration well on both platforms.
From my video editing software features comparison for content creators:

Caption tools: Descript is unmatched for automatic transcription and caption editing. Premiere Pro has good built-in caption tools. DaVinci Resolve's are functional but less polished.

Asset management: Final Cut Pro's libraries are intuitive for small teams. Premiere Pro's project management is more robust for large teams. DaVinci Resolve's database system is powerful but has a learning curve.

Export optimization: All major tools have good YouTube/Vimeo presets, but DaVinci Resolve offers the most control over compression settings in the free version.

Performance: This varies wildly by hardware. Apple Silicon Macs run Final Cut Pro beautifully. Windows PCs with good NVIDIA cards run DaVinci Resolve very well. Premiere Pro is more consistent across platforms but often slower.
