I've been studying influence and persuasion skills, but I'm concerned about the ethical line between effective influence and persuasion skills versus manipulation.

What distinguishes ethical influence and persuasion skills from manipulation? I want to develop my influence and persuasion skills to help my team buy into important changes and initiatives, but I don't want to cross into coercive territory.
