I'm helping a friend choose between several website hosting services and honestly, I'm getting overwhelmed by all the options. There are so many providers out there each claiming to be the best.

For someone launching their first serious website, what should they actually prioritize when comparing different website hosting services? Is it price, features, support, or something else entirely?

I've seen some really cheap services that seem great on paper but then you read the reviews and they're terrible. Other services cost more but include things like email hosting included which seems valuable. What's the smart way to approach this comparison?
When comparing website hosting services, I always tell people to prioritize support above everything else. You can have all the features in the world, but if you can't get help when something breaks, it doesn't matter.

Look for 24/7 support with multiple contact methods. Test their response times before signing up. Some providers have great sales support but terrible technical support.
I'd add that when evaluating website hosting services, don't just look at the base price. Check what's included versus what costs extra. Some providers have low entry prices but charge for essentials like SSL certificates, backups, or security features.

Also consider scalability. Will this website hosting service still work for you when your traffic grows? Migrating later can be a pain.
For WordPress users specifically, when comparing website hosting services, look for ones optimized for your CMS. Regular shared hosting might work, but WordPress-optimized hosting usually has better performance and security features built in.

Also check if they offer staging environments. Being able to test changes before going live is huge for avoiding downtime.
For beginners, I'd prioritize ease of use when comparing website hosting services. A control panel that's intuitive can save so much frustration. Some hosts have really complicated interfaces that require technical knowledge.

Also, check if they offer website builders or one-click installs for common applications. These features can make getting started much easier for someone new to website hosting services.
