I've been working on improving my sleep hygiene tips lately and honestly, it's made such a difference. I used to scroll through my phone in bed until midnight and wonder why I couldn't sleep. Now I have a proper wind down routine and my sleep quality improvement has been incredible.

What specific sleep hygiene tips have worked for you guys? I'm talking about the little things that actually make a difference when you're trying to establish better sleep habits.
The most impactful sleep hygiene tip for me has been establishing a consistent wind down period. I start about 90 minutes before bed with dim lighting and no screens. This has done wonders for my circadian rhythm and overall sleep quality improvement. The key is making it a non negotiable part of your evening, just like brushing your teeth.
I totally agree with the wind down period. What really helped me was tracking my sleep with apps to see what actually worked. One surprising sleep hygiene tip that made a big difference was keeping my bedroom slightly cooler than I thought comfortable. Turns out the ideal bedroom temperature for sleep is lower than most people realize, and this simple adjustment improved my deep sleep significantly.
As someone who struggled with insomnia for years, the most practical sleep hygiene tip I can share is creating a worry journal. I spend 10 minutes before bed writing down everything on my mind, then I literally close the book on it. This simple practice has been more effective than any natural sleep aid I've tried for quieting racing thoughts and actually falling asleep.
The game changer for me was implementing a strict digital curfew. No screens after 9pm, which initially felt impossible but now I can't imagine going back. This single change improved my sleep quality more than anything else I've tried. It's amazing how much blue light reduction affects your ability to wake up refreshed in the morning.
These are all fantastic sleep hygiene tips. I've incorporated several of them into my routine. The worry journal idea is particularly interesting I might give that a try. What I've found is that consistency is more important than perfection. Even if you can't do your full routine every night, doing something is better than nothing for establishing better sleep habits.
