I see so many flashy new products every month, but I'm trying to be smarter about my purchases. I want to focus on tech products that pay off over time rather than just being trendy.

What are some examples of tech that actually saves you money, makes you more efficient, or improves your life in measurable ways? I'm thinking about things like smart home devices that reduce energy bills, productivity tools that save hours per week, or health tech that prevents bigger issues down the line.

Looking for real world experiences here, not just marketing claims.
Smart lighting with motion sensors has been a game changer for me. It automatically turns lights off when no one's in the room. I was skeptical at first, but looking at my electricity bills before and after, it's definitely one of those tech products that pay off. Saved about 15% on my lighting costs.

Also, a robot vacuum. I know it sounds lazy, but the time it saves me from vacuuming every week adds up to hours per month. That's time I can spend on more important things or just relaxing.
For remote work, a proper webcam and microphone setup has paid off tremendously. The built in laptop camera and mic were fine for occasional calls, but for daily meetings, the upgrade to a 4K webcam and decent USB microphone made me look and sound more professional. Clients take me more seriously, and that's translated to better business outcomes.
