I've tried switching to eco-friendly cleaning products before but some just don't seem to clean as effectively. What eco-friendly cleaning products have you found that actually perform well? I'm looking for recommendations that balance environmental benefits with practical cleaning power. Are there particular brands or DIY solutions that work for sustainable laundry practices too?
For eco-friendly cleaning products that actually work, I've had good luck with brands like Seventh Generation and Method. But honestly, the most effective and cheapest options are DIY. White vinegar cuts through grease, baking soda scrubs surfaces, and lemon juice works as a disinfectant. These are perfect for sustainable laundry practices too when you add vinegar to the rinse cycle.
I was skeptical about eco-friendly cleaning products at first too. What convinced me was trying castile soap. You can dilute it for different uses - floor cleaner, dish soap, even body wash. It's versatile, effective, and fits well with sustainable household practices. For sustainable laundry practices, wool dryer balls work great instead of dryer sheets.
The eco-friendly cleaning products that surprised me with their effectiveness were enzyme-based cleaners. They work really well on organic stains and odors without harsh chemicals. For sustainable laundry practices, I switched to laundry strips instead of liquid detergent. They're lightweight, plastic-free, and work just as well for reducing carbon footprint daily through lower shipping weight.
