I've been playing a lot of indie titles lately and some of them have been games that exceeded expectations in ways I never imagined.
There's this game "Starlight Drifter" that I picked up on a whim - it looked like a simple space exploration game but turned out to have this incredibly deep narrative and emotional storytelling. The way it handles themes of loneliness and connection in space is just... wow. It's one of those games that surpassed expectations completely.
I'm curious what games have done this for others. Sometimes you go in with low expectations and come out absolutely stunned by the quality.
