We all know that sustainable public transit is better for the environment, but convincing people to leave their cars at home remains a challenge. I'm interested in practical strategies that actually work.

From what I've seen, reliability is key. People won't switch if they can't depend on the service. That means high frequency bus service on major routes, and real time tracking so people know exactly when their ride will arrive.

But there are other factors too. Clean, comfortable vehicles (like zero emission buses), good security with public transit safety measures, and convenient payment options with contactless payment systems all help.

I'm also curious about the role of transit station renovations. Do nicer stations with amenities like electric vehicle charging stations actually attract more riders? Or is it more about the actual service quality?

What approaches have you seen work best for getting people to choose sustainable public transit over driving?
