I'm planning to start vlogging and need recommendations for free video editing software for vlogging. Something that can handle stabilization, color correction, and audio improvements would be great. Most vloggers seem to use paid software but I'm on a tight budget.
For vlogging, DaVinci Resolve is hard to beat as free video editing software for vlogging. The color grading tools are industry standard, which is important because vlogs often have varying lighting conditions. The audio tools are also really good for cleaning up voice recordings.
Shotcut has some decent stabilization features that work well for vlogging footage. As free video editing software for vlogging, it's a good middle ground - not as complex as DaVinci but more capable than the really basic options. The audio normalization feature is particularly useful for balancing voice levels.
OpenShot with some plugins can handle vlogging pretty well. The key for free video editing software for vlogging is having good audio tools and stabilization - OpenShot has basic versions of both. It's not as robust as DaVinci, but for someone just starting their vlogging journey, it's more than adequate.
