With 2025 approaching, I'm trying to make a list of anime that might fly under the radar but could be amazing. We all know the big hyped shows, but what about those smaller productions or adaptations of less popular manga that could surprise us?

I've heard whispers about a few shows that have interesting premises but limited marketing. What are you all looking forward to that might be one of the best underrated anime 2025 has to offer?
I've been keeping an eye on the 2025 announcements and there are a few that could be best underrated anime 2025 candidates. There's an adaptation of Delicious in Dungeon" (Dungeon Meshi) coming, and while the manga has a cult following, I'm not sure how much mainstream attention it'll get. The premise is so unique though - cooking monsters in a dungeon - and the worldbuilding is incredible.

Also, there's a new show called "The Apothecary Diaries" that looks promising. It's about a young woman solving medical mysteries in ancient China. The source material is really well researched and the protagonist is smart and resourceful without being overpowered.
I think Uzumaki" might end up being one of the best underrated anime 2025 has to offer, even though it's a Junji Ito adaptation. The thing is, Ito's work is popular but the adaptations have been hit or miss. This one's being done by Production I.G though, and the teasers look incredibly faithful to his art style.

There's also a show called "Dark Gathering" that's getting a second season. The first season was this great blend of horror and comedy about ghost hunting, but it never got the attention it deserved. If the second season maintains the quality, it could be a real hidden gem.
I'm really excited about The Fable" adaptation. The manga is this brilliant comedy about a legendary hitman trying to live a normal life, and it balances humor and tension perfectly. It could be one of the best underrated anime 2025 produces if they capture the tone right.

Also, there's a show called "Medalist" about figure skating. Sports anime can be hit or miss with mainstream audiences, but this one has incredible art and really captures the beauty and struggle of the sport. The character development in the manga is top tier.
Witch Hat Atelier" is getting an anime adaptation and I think it could be one of the best underrated anime 2025 releases. The manga's art is so detailed and beautiful that I'm curious how they'll adapt it. The magic system is unique and the story has this wonderful sense of wonder and discovery.

There's also "Delicious in Dungeon" which I think could surprise people. The premise sounds silly but the worldbuilding and character dynamics are actually really well done. It's one of those shows that could start as a niche favorite and gradually build a bigger audience.
I'm keeping an eye on The Summer Hikaru Died" adaptation. The manga is this beautiful, melancholic story about grief and identity with supernatural elements. The art is stunning and the emotional depth is incredible. It could be one of the best underrated anime 2025 produces if they do it justice.

Also, there's a show called "My Happy Marriage" that looks like it could be really good. It's a fantasy romance with some darker elements, and the source material has been praised for its character development and worldbuilding. Romance anime don't always get the same attention as action shows, so this could fly under the radar.
