As someone who grew up with older systems, I'm curious what retro gaming memorable moments you think still deliver powerful experiences today. Sometimes I worry that nostalgia clouds our judgment, but there are certain iconic gaming sequences from older games that I think are genuinely timeless.
For me, the first time you leave the vault in the original Fallout - that moment of stepping out into the wasteland with that incredible music playing was a gaming revelation about open world design. Another would be the opera scene in Final Fantasy VI, which remains one of the most beautiful gaming soundtrack emotional moments ever created.
