Music in games can elevate a scene from good to unforgettable. I'm curious about everyone's gaming soundtrack emotional moments - those times when the music just perfectly captures the emotion of what's happening on screen.

For me, the moment in Final Fantasy VII when Aerith's theme plays during THAT scene... I don't think I need to say more. That was a gaming revelation about how powerful music can be in storytelling. Another one is the ending credits of Journey - the way the music swells as you see all the players you met along the way.

What are your most iconic gaming sequences where the soundtrack made all the difference?
The moment in NieR:Automata when the choir kicks in during the final credits sequence. Without spoiling it, the way the game uses music interactively in that moment is a gaming revelation about how games can create unique emotional experiences. I've never felt anything quite like that in any other medium.

Also, the main theme of The Last of Us. That simple guitar melody carries so much weight throughout the game, and hearing variations of it during key moments creates such strong video game emotional connections. It's amazing how a few notes can evoke so much feeling.
The underwater theme from Donkey Kong Country on SNES. That music created such a perfect atmosphere of tranquility mixed with tension. Even today, hearing it takes me right back to those retro gaming memorable moments of exploring those beautiful underwater levels.

Another one would be the opening theme of Chrono Trigger. That song just fills me with nostalgia and excitement every time I hear it. It perfectly captures the sense of adventure that game offers, and it's one of those gaming soundtrack emotional moments that defined my childhood gaming experiences.
The music in Hollow Knight, especially in the City of Tears. That gentle piano melody as rain falls through the stained glass windows... it creates one of the most immersive gaming experiences I've had. The atmosphere in that area is just perfect, and the music is a huge part of why.

Also, the soundtrack of Journey. The way the music dynamically changes based on your progress and actions creates such a seamless emotional journey. That game is a masterclass in how music can enhance gaming experiences without ever feeling intrusive.
The music in the final battle of Persona 5 Royal. That upbeat, triumphant track playing as you fight to change someone's heart... it perfectly captures the game's themes of rebellion and hope. It's one of those modern gaming iconic scenes where everything comes together perfectly.

Also, the soundtrack of Celeste. The way the music intensifies during the harder sections, then becomes more melodic during the story moments... it creates such a perfect emotional throughline. The music in that game is a character in itself, helping you through the challenge.
The music in the Destiny raids, especially the Aksis fight in Wrath of the Machine. That epic orchestral score playing as your team coordinates to take down this massive machine god... it creates such an intense gaming community shared experience. The music makes those moments feel truly epic.

Also, the lobby music in old Call of Duty games. Those simple guitar riffs are so nostalgic now and remind me of late nights playing with friends. Sometimes it's not about complex compositions but about the memories and feelings the music evokes.
