Social psychology has produced some of the most influential findings about how people behave in groups. From classic studies on conformity and obedience to more recent research on implicit bias and social identity, these social psychology findings have really shaped our understanding of collective behavior.
One area I find particularly interesting is research on how group dynamics affect decision making. Studies show that groups often make riskier decisions than individuals would alone (the risky shift phenomenon), but also that diverse groups often make better decisions.
What social psychology findings have you found most insightful for understanding human social behavior studies?
