My partner and I want to workout together at home, but we're at completely different fitness levels. I'm a beginner while they've been exercising regularly for years. We're looking for a bodyweight workout that we can both do together, with modifications for different abilities.
How do you create a home exercise program that accommodates different levels? What exercises have good scaling options? Looking for a no equipment fitness routine that keeps both of us challenged without being too easy for one or too hard for the other.
My partner and I have different fitness levels too. We do the same exercises but with different variations. For example, during pushups: I do knee pushups while they do regular or decline pushups. During squats: I do regular squats while they do jump squats or pistol squat progressions.
This way we're both challenged appropriately. The key is choosing exercises that have clear progressions and regressions. Most bodyweight exercises can be modified up or down in difficulty.
