My Samsung phone has been having charging port issues for about a week now. The cable doesn't sit snug anymore, and I have to wiggle it around to get it to charge. Sometimes it says "moisture detected" even though it's completely dry. I've tried different cables and chargers, cleaned the port with compressed air, even used a toothpick carefully. These charging port issues are getting really annoying. Anyone have suggestions for fixing this without replacing the whole port?
Charging port issues are super common. The moisture detected" error with charging port issues usually means there's debris or corrosion in the port. Even if it looks clean, there might be lint packed down at the bottom. Use a plastic toothpick (not metal!) and gently scrape the bottom of the port. I've fixed dozens of charging port issues this way. If that doesn't work, the port itself might need replacement.
I had the exact same charging port issues on my Galaxy S21. The cable wouldn't stay in and I got random moisture warnings. Took it to a repair shop and they showed me how much lint was packed in there. They used special tools to clean it out completely. Since then, I use port plugs when not charging to prevent charging port issues.
Before attempting any DIY phone fixes for charging port issues, try wireless charging if your phone supports it. It won't fix the port, but at least you can keep using your phone while you figure out the charging port issues. Wireless charging has saved me multiple times when dealing with charging port issues.
