I've been thinking about the relationship between consciousness and reality, and it feels like one of the deepest questions in philosophy of consciousness and philosophy of reality.
Some views say consciousness emerges from physical reality. Others say consciousness is fundamental and reality emerges from it. Some even suggest they're two aspects of the same thing.
This isn't just abstract philosophy it affects how we understand everything from perception to science to spirituality. If consciousness is fundamental, does that mean reality is in some sense mental? If it emerges from matter, does that mean it's ultimately reducible to physics?
I'm curious how others think about this relationship. Have you had experiences that made you question the standard materialist view? Or do you find that view sufficient?
