I've been really impressed by classic game mods that specifically address issues that make older games feel dated. These aren't mods that completely change the game, but rather ones that fix technical problems, improve controls, or add quality of life features that should have been there originally.

One great example is the modding community around Resident Evil 4. There are mods that fix the mouse controls on PC, improve the textures, and even add widescreen support that works properly. For older PC games, there are often community patches that fix compatibility issues with modern operating systems.

What are the most impressive classic game mods you've seen that specifically make retro games that hold up even better? I'm looking for mods that respect the original vision while addressing legitimate problems that have emerged as technology has advanced.
