I've been really into classic game mods lately, and it's amazing how creative the community can be. Some of these mods completely transform old games, fixing issues, adding new content, or even creating entirely new experiences.
One of my favorites is the Super Mario 64 modding scene. There are mods that add new levels, improve the camera, and even port the game to different engines. For PC classics, the modding community for games like Doom and Half-Life is still incredibly active decades later.
What are the most interesting classic game mods you've come across? I'm especially interested in mods that enhance retro games that hold up well on their own but become even better with community improvements.
Also, what are your thoughts on the ethics of modding? When does it cross the line from enhancement to something that disrespects the original developers' vision?
