Hey everyone, I'm looking for recommendations on the best multiplayer games 2025 that are actually good for making friends. I've tried a few games but it seems like everyone just wants to play and not really connect. What are some games with good communities where people actually talk and build online gaming friendships? I'm interested in both competitive and casual multiplayer communities.
I've had good luck with some of the newer social multiplayer platforms that focus on community building. Games like Project Community and Together Forever Online have been great for me. They're designed specifically as best games for socializing with built-in icebreaker activities and regular community events. The key is finding games where the mechanics encourage cooperation rather than just competition.
For online gaming friendships, I'd recommend checking out MMOs with strong social features. Games like Eternal Realms and Starforge Community have amazing guild systems that really foster multiplayer community hubs. They have regular events, housing systems where you can hang out, and activities that require actual teamwork. The best games for making friends are usually the ones where you have to work together to achieve something.
Honestly some of the best social gaming experiences I've had have been in smaller indie games rather than AAA titles. Games like Deep Rock Galactic and Valheim have incredible communities because they're built around cooperation. The player bases tend to be more mature and willing to help newcomers. Plus they're great for multiplayer team building since you actually need to coordinate to survive.
I'd suggest looking into games that have built-in social features rather than relying on external platforms. Some of the best multiplayer games 2025 for socializing have things like player housing, social hubs, and community events. Games that treat their multiplayer matchmaking communities as part of the core experience tend to have better results for gaming friendship platforms.
