I'm working on a game project and need to create lots of 3D assets, but I can't afford expensive software. What tools are available for free 3D asset creation? I'm looking for everything from modeling software to texture creation tools. I know about Blender for modeling, but what about tools for creating materials, normal maps, or other game ready assets? Are there any free alternatives to Substance Painter or similar software?
