Full Version: How can I fix copper sulfate crystallization that won't start on the seed string?

I was trying to make some copper sulfate crystals for a project, and I think I messed up the supersaturation step. My solution just won't seem to start crystallizing on the seed string, even after sitting for days in a cool, quiet spot. I’m wondering if my initial heating was too aggressive and I somehow drove off too much water, or if the impurity level in my copper source is the culprit. Has anyone else had a batch just stubbornly refuse to grow?
That sounds frustrating I know the vibe when supersaturation stalls and the seed string looks lonely in the solution patience can matter more than you expect.
Crystallization hinges on crossing the supersaturation line and on a seed that is truly fresh free of oils or residues a bit of noise in the solution can derail growth but the idea is sound.
Maybe you are chasing a glow on the seed string while the bulk solution is the gatekeeper the seed is just a spark not a guarantee and that misread can leave you thinking something is wrong when the system is simply choosing a slower path.
What if the stubborn batch is pushing you to rethink the goal not as a perfect crystal set but as a test of how patient the setup is rather than a single win.
I've seen the same thing where timing is off and a batch sits untouched for days then some stray factor finally nudges a few wisps of growth.
From a writing craft angle this moment reads like a scene where the system holds back the payoff and you have to read the hints not the outcome.
