I’ve been taking the same bus route to work for years, but lately I’ve noticed the schedule seems almost random—sometimes it’s early, sometimes it just doesn’t show. I’m starting to wonder if the posted times are even connected to reality anymore. Has anyone else felt like their once-reliable line has become completely unpredictable?
Yeah I get that feeling too the bus used to arrive like clockwork and now it just shows up when it feels ready like a surprise ending.
There are factors like traffic signal timing bus bunching and driver shifts that can push the posted times away from reality over long stretches.
Maybe the route is on a different timetable on certain days or the map app is showing a ghost schedule that no one actually uses.
Maybe the issue is not the line but how we measure it are we chasing a perfect schedule or should we accept a range and plan around variability?
I doubt the posted times are meant to be precise all day every day maybe there is rounding or the data source is inconsistent and we just feel it more.
The bigger idea might be how people manage time when transit is imperfect perhaps we adjust our routines or look for better options rather than fixating on exact minutes.
To me the schedule is like a city rhythm and when it stalls you notice the mood and pace of the whole morning shift.
