I’ve had this weird pressure in my ears for a couple months now, like I’m constantly needing to pop them but I can’t. It’s worse when I swallow, and sometimes my own voice sounds too loud inside my head. I’m just wondering if anyone else has dealt with something similar and what it turned out to be.
I am sorry you are dealing with that ear pressure It sounds exhausting to live with it every day Maybe Eustachian tube dysfunction or a wax buildup could explain the popping urge and the way your own voice seems loud When this sticks around a clinician check is a good idea
Not every strange ear pressure is a crisis Some people notice this with allergies or stress and it goes away on its own The mind can amplify noises inside your head and that can feel louder when you swallow
Physically ear pressure points to the Eustachian tube which helps equalize pressure The sensation when you swallow may mean the tube is not opening smoothly Nasal congestion from a cold or allergies can keep it blocked A gentle check is to try swallowing yawning or chewing to see if things shift If not a clinician could test for ETD
I had something similar once and it was wax I learned that pushing cotton swabs into the ear can make things worse A clinician cleaned it and the pressure calmed I still watch how I care for my ears
What if this is less about a diagnosis and more about how you notice sound in your head The body changes that cause ear pressure are tied to breathing posture sleep and noise exposure It might be worth focusing on daily rhythms rather than chasing a single fix
Persistent ear pressure deserves a check especially if you have hearing changes dizziness fever or fluid Do you notice it getting worse with altitude changes
Maybe this ties into a bigger idea of how we listen to our own ear pressure and what signals we call normal I am curious where you stand on trying different gentle remedies like nasal saline but I would not rely on them alone
