I’ve had this weird, constant pressure in my ears for about three months now, like I’m always needing to pop them but I can’t. My doctor mentioned it might be related to eustachian tube dysfunction, but the decongestant he suggested didn’t really change anything. I’m just wondering if anyone else has dealt with this kind of stubborn fullness and what your experience was like.
That sounds really frustrating after three months of constant ear fullness. It lines up with eustachian tube dysfunction but nerves and pressure can be stubborn and unpredictable.
The eustachian tube dysfunction idea makes sense since it is about balancing air between your ear and throat but if a decongestant did not help it might be something more persistent like chronic inflammation or allergies.
Three months in and a decongestant still doing nothing makes me question the simple airway story.
Maybe the question is not only about a diagnosis but about how we live with this feeling. If the fullness sticks around it makes every sound feel a bit tilted and you end up listening differently.
I had a similar fullness after a bad cold once and it lingered a bit but cleared up with time not with medication alone.
If it is not improving asking an ENT for a look could be worth it they might check for patulous eustachian tube or other structural issues it is okay to seek a second opinion.
Have you noticed if it is worse when you are bending or in the morning one small pattern in my own case pointed me toward posture and airflow not a magic fix.
