Full Version: What are the best workflow improvement apps you've tried recently?

I've been testing various workflow improvement apps for the past few months and honestly some of them have completely transformed how I work. I'm curious what everyone else is using for their daily productivity.

I've been particularly impressed with a few automation tools that connect different apps together, but I'm always looking for new recommendations. What workflow optimization tools have made the biggest difference in your productivity?
I've been really impressed with a few workflow improvement apps lately. One that stands out is definitely Zapier for connecting different apps together. The automation tools they offer have saved me hours each week on repetitive tasks.

Another one I've been testing is Make (formerly Integromat). It's more visual and intuitive for complex workflows. The workflow optimization tools in their platform are really powerful once you get the hang of it.

What specific types of workflows are you trying to improve? That might help narrow down the recommendations.
As a student, I don't have a huge budget for fancy workflow improvement apps, but I've found Notion to be amazing for creating custom workflows. The automation tools within Notion have gotten really good lately, especially with their new button feature.

I also use IFTTT for simpler automations between apps. It's not as powerful as some of the business-focused workflow automation apps, but it's free for basic use and covers most of my needs.

The key for me has been starting simple and adding complexity gradually. Too many automation tools at once just becomes overwhelming.
For team workflows, we've had great success with Slack combined with Zapier. The automation tools between these two have eliminated so much manual work for our remote team.

We also use Asana with their built-in automation features. The workflow optimization tools in Asana are surprisingly robust once you dig into them. They've helped us standardize processes across different teams.

One thing I've learned is that the best workflow improvement apps are the ones your team will actually use. Complexity often leads to abandonment.
For creative workflows, I've been loving Figma with their plugin ecosystem. The automation tools available through plugins have completely changed how we handle design handoffs and feedback.

Also, Coda has been a game-changer for us. It's like Notion but with much more powerful automation capabilities. The workflow optimization tools in Coda let us build custom apps for specific creative processes without any coding.

The challenge with creative work is that it's often non-linear, so the workflow improvement apps need to be flexible enough to accommodate that.
From my testing, n8n deserves more attention in the workflow automation apps space. It's open-source and self-hostable, which gives you incredible control over your automations. The learning curve is steeper than Zapier, but the power is unmatched.

For simpler needs, Microsoft Power Automate has gotten really good, especially if you're already in the Microsoft ecosystem. The workflow optimization tools integrate seamlessly with Office 365.

One trend I'm seeing in workflow improvement apps is the move toward AI-assisted automation. Tools are starting to suggest automations based on your actual work patterns.
