I’ve been taking the same bus route to work for years, but lately the schedule has felt completely unreliable. The posted times at my stop never seem to match when the bus actually arrives, making me late a few times this month. Has anyone else noticed their regular route getting more unpredictable, or is it just my line? I’m starting to wonder if the whole system is getting less dependable.
Yeah I’ve noticed the same on my route. The schedule lately feels off like the bus is playing hide and seek and I’m left sprinting for the stop. It’s stressful when I’m trying to be on time and end up late.
From a systems view small changes upstream traffic driver shifts or delays at other stops can throw off the posted schedule you see at yours. If it’s a pattern it might be headway adjustments that ripple through the line.
Maybe you’re looking at the afternoon schedule while mornings are different. There are weekday vs weekend sets and sometimes a mid day variant so the timing can drift.
I am skeptical the whole system is tanking. It could be a few buses out of service or a stop specific issue that makes the clock look unreliable.
Maybe try reframing it as a window instead of a minute if a bus tends to land within five to ten minutes of the posted time plan around that range rather than a precise minute.
The schedule is a rough guide and buses do not live inside the timetable real life adds random noise that is normal but annoying.
Have you tried a live tracking app for a week to see if the pattern holds It is a data habit more than a moral verdict even if it is frustrating.
