So I’ve been playing this new fantasy RPG and I keep hitting a weird wall with my character build. I went all in on magic, but now in certain dungeons I just feel completely useless when my mana runs dry. I see people talking about hybrid builds, but I’m not sure if I should respec or just push through and adapt my playstyle. Has anyone else run into this kind of thing where your initial approach just stops working?
Yeah I tried going all in on magic and in certain dungeons my mana ran dry and I felt useless when spells fizzled.
Hybrid builds help a lot because you still have damage output when your mana pool goes quiet.
Respecs can feel risky but sometimes it is cheaper than grinding a reroll and you might surprise yourself.
Maybe the problem is not the build but the dungeon pace and the way that magic windows open and close.
Consider reframing the goal as a toolkit approach rather than chasing one play style and you might find doors opening in rooms you did not expect.
Have you tried a small experiment with a light hybrid build for a run and compared how it feels in a few rooms?
