So I just got a weird email that looks exactly like a shipping notification from a carrier I use, but something feels off about the link. Has anyone else gotten something so convincing that it made you pause, even though you usually spot the fakes? I’m usually pretty careful, but this one has me second-guessing.
That gave me a chill too. I once got a shipping style email that looked spot on and it turned out to be a phishing attempt. I paused to check who sent it.
The convincing part is the branding and the short path of the link which makes me think of phishing. If the URL hides a real company name but resolves somewhere else the pieces do not fit.
I almost believed it and checked my account and found nothing but it made me rethink how much I trust these notices. Have you checked the official app yet or did you chase the link?
That feels like a phishing vibe and I would not trust it at all until I can verify through the official site or app.
Maybe the real problem is the flood of phishing style alerts and how we train our instincts in the moment.
As a reader I notice small things like a slightly off logo or a misspelled field name in the email header and that tells me more than the big claims and I keep my radar on.
There is a concept called social engineering and this email reads like a phishing example of it.
