So I’ve been using the same phone for almost four years now and it’s finally starting to feel really sluggish. I’m wondering if anyone else has held onto a device this long and noticed a steep drop in performance, or if I just got unlucky. The battery barely lasts half a day now, which is the main reason I’m considering an upgrade, but I’m not sure if that’s normal wear or something more.
That sounds rough I hear you my own phone slowed to a crawl after years and the battery life going from a full day to less than half a day makes everything feel heavier
From a tech point of view the slowdown could come from software bloat and background tasks piling up try checking battery usage and a reset to see if the pace improves
I suspect you are not alone a lot of people hold a device too long and end up blaming the battery for things that are really about heat and storage and how the apps behave
I am skeptical about a battery swap being worth it in a four year old device if the rest of the hardware is still fine you might consider a controlled reset and see if the battery life improves
Maybe upgrading is not the only right move the frame of battery as the culprit hides other issues like screen refresh or app habits that slow you down in daily use
Think about a plan not just a purchase a refurbished model with decent battery life or a lighter os on a midrange device could fit the same use without a big price tag
Is the battery the real bottleneck here or are you just negotiating with expectations
