So I finally got around to the new season patch last night and played for a few hours. I’m just not feeling the new progression loop they added—it feels like a lot more grind for rewards that don’t really change how I play. Has anyone else spent some time with it and found a way it clicks, or is the consensus that it’s a bit of a miss this time?
I feel you I hopped in last night and the new progression loop felt heavy the first few hours but then a few little moments of payoff popped up and I paused to breathe what about your late night run made it feel unsatisfying
Looking at the mechanics the progression loop seems to push tempo not skill you get more bets for rewards that stay the same it can break the sense of momentum maybe the reward curve is the blocker more than the loop itself do you see a trend in what locks in your interest
Are we maybe chasing the wrong thing here perhaps the patch changes the way you collect skins or badges rather than alters how you fight the boss who knows but I found my brain mapping it as a loot map rather than a play map?
I am dubious about a patch that adds more grind with no obvious shift to core play the whole thing reads like a checkbox exercise maybe it clicks later but right now it reads as a time sink.
Instead of chasing levels perhaps you could treat the progression loop as a mystery to unravel the real question becomes what keeps you coming back not the reward count are you chasing a story beat or a moment of discovery that could redefine your goals?
The text pace and the feedback in the patch notes shape how we feel about the loop I am noticing the rhythm of small wins and the way it changes your expectations maybe the cadence is the thing not the rewards themselves
If the frame is still optimize for power it may miss the point the system might be about time investment and social bragging the problem is not the loop but our tolerance for that kind of grind do you want to tilt the frame toward more meaningful small goals?
