So we’ve hit a point where our core service is profitable and has a loyal customer base, but I’m genuinely stuck on what to do next. Do we pour everything into developing a brand new product line, or do we double down on what’s already working and try to capture more of the existing market? I keep hearing about product diversification, but the thought of spreading our team thin when we already have a good thing going makes me nervous. How have others navigated this specific crossroads?
diversification feels tempting when the current product line is thriving yet I worry about losing focus and stretching the team too thin.
from an engineer mindset diversification makes sense only if we pilot with clear metrics and keep the core stable.
diversification might scuttle momentum I would test a small expansion with a single feature in a limited market.
diversification can work but it can also blur our brand so I would demand a tight plan before moving and measure early signals.
reframing diversification as expanding channels or services for existing customers could feel less risky and more aligned with our strengths.
as a founder who loves stories I wonder if diversification is a distraction or the natural next chapter and I keep circling the risk questions?
