So we finally convinced the boss to let us try a proper content marketing push, and honestly, the initial results are kind of confusing. We’re getting decent traffic from the pieces we’re putting out, but I’m staring at the analytics and it just doesn’t feel like it’s turning into anything real for the business. I guess I’m wondering if anyone else has hit this plateau where the visits are there but the actual customer conversations aren’t happening.
I know that feeling the traffic looks solid but the conversations don’t show up. Might be a misaligned message and a weak handoff after a reader finishes a piece in content marketing. Maybe map the reader journey and test a clear next step on the page
Could be the data is noisy or the audience isn’t the buyer. Are you sure the visits are from your ICP and not a misconfigured metric in analytics?
Try a simple tweak at the end of a couple top posts like a clear signup or quick demo and watch what happens.
Content marketing can build trust over time but you need a crisp handoff to sales or product. Maybe response speed or the value prop not matching buyer intent.
Honestly I had something similar and it helped when we published less and focused on sharpening the pain point in each article.
What would count as a win for you in this phase and what tiny experiment could tell you if there is real interest?
