I’ve been listening to this one album on repeat for months now, and I’m starting to wonder if that’s weird. It’s not even new, but something about the whole vibe just fits my current life. Does anyone else get stuck on a single record for a strangely long time, to the point where other music almost doesn’t sound right?
Yeah I know that vibe, a single album can become the soundtrack to a season of life.
Psychologically, looping the same album often happens during stable or transitional life phases. Familiar music reduces cognitive load and emotional uncertainty, which is why new music can feel ‘wrong’ during that time.
I am a bit skeptical about sticking with one album that long maybe you are just bored with newer stuff.
For me a late night drive with a favorite album clicked and I kept replaying it until it felt like home.
If it feels right maybe try a tiny change like swapping a track or two to see if the mood shifts.
Do you still hear the same lines or has it started to sound like a background hum?
