I was having dinner with my parents last weekend, and my dad was reminiscing about how he used to have to memorize phone numbers and navigate with paper maps. It struck me how, within a single generation, those basic cognitive skills have become almost obsolete. It got me thinking more broadly about the trade-offs we're making. We have incredible access to information and connection, but I also see my own attention span fragmenting and a constant, low-grade anxiety from being always "on." I find myself deeply curious about the long-term impact of technology on society, not just economically, but on our mental health, social bonds, and even our sense of self. Are we in control of these tools, or are they reshaping us in ways we don't yet fully understand?
