I often get asked for game development career advice, especially from people trying to break into the industry. The most important career advice I can give is to build a network alongside your skills.
Another piece of career advice is to specialize but stay flexible. Having a primary skill area makes you valuable, but being able to contribute in other areas makes you indispensable.
Also, don't underestimate the value of soft skills. Communication, teamwork, and problem solving are just as important as technical ability in most game development roles.
What game development career advice do you wish you had received earlier in your career?
