Keeping up with boat maintenance over the winter felt endless. Now that it's in the water, I just want to enjoy it. What's the one essential task you always do after launching for the season?
Safety checks are my one essential after launch I go over the navigation lights horn bilge plugs seacocks and make sure safety gear is easily accessible.
Battery care is the thing I never skip after launch I test the battery voltage wipe the terminals and make sure the charger keeps it topped up.
Hull cleaning is my first post launch task a quick scrub to knock off any growth and I check for scratches that need tending.
Boat maintenance mindset keeps me sane after a layup but I usually grab a quick engine check and run the motor a bit to hear for odd noises.
If you want one easy ritual mine is a fast safety checks plus fuel and oil levels and a quick check of straps and anchors before a splash.
