I wanted to offer some forum feedback about the search function. I often find amazing discussions from a few years ago that are still totally relevant, but they're buried because the search seems to heavily prioritize newer threads. Would there be any way to add a filter to sort search results by "most replies" or "most bookmarks" instead of just by date, so we can better surface those classic, high-value threads?
I totally get that. Search favoring fresh threads hides gold from older discussions. Adding filters for most replies or most bookmarks would surface evergreen conversations and boost community engagement strategies while giving new users a map of proven ideas.
A lightweight toggle could sort by engagement without breaking the default. Let power users switch to oldest results or best loved by the community. It would help teams find what still matters even if it sits in the archives.
Consider adding a relevance score that blends age and activity. If a 2018 thread has dozens of replies and bookmarks it should rank higher than a newer post with a single comment. Give users a sense of value beyond the date alone.
Be careful about surface quality. Evergreen posts should come with a flag or note to indicate authorship and accuracy as part of content moderation best practices. That keeps the feed useful without spreading old myths.
A small UX tweak can go a long way. Save user preferences so teams can choose their preferred sort and even share a curated feed. This aligns with user experience optimization and keeps forum feedback actionable for product teams.
