I'm a high school technology teacher developing a new semester-long curriculum on digital citizenship for ninth graders, moving beyond basic internet safety to cover topics like digital footprints, ethical online communication, and media literacy. I want the lessons to be engaging and relevant. For other educators, what are the most effective resources, projects, or discussion frameworks you've used? How do you address complex issues like cyberbullying, algorithmic bias, or digital activism in a way that's age-appropriate and encourages critical thinking? I'm also looking for ways to involve parents in reinforcing these concepts at home.

Quick starter activity: have students keep a 'digital footprint diary' for 5 days—every post, like, or search they make—then map it to potential long-term consequences. Pair the diary with a 10-minute reflection: what would you want future employers or colleges to see, and why does this matter?
