I've recently gotten into acrylic pouring and I'm struggling with getting consistent cells without using silicone oil, which I'd prefer to avoid for a more archival finish. My last few attempts with a basic floetrol and water mix either dried muddy or the colors blended into a brown mess without any interesting lacing or cell formation. For other artists who focus on this medium, what are your go-to pouring medium recipes and techniques for achieving reliable, vibrant cells? How do you layer your colors in the cup to promote cell formation, and what's your process for torching to avoid bubbles and burning the paint? I'm also curious about the best substrates and sealants for a professional-looking finish.
