After overcoming my own driving anxiety, I've come to appreciate that there are certain driving safety fundamentals that remain true no matter how much technology changes or how long you've been driving.

What are those core driving safety fundamentals that every driver should internalize? I'm thinking about things like the importance of seat belt use, maintaining proper following distance rules, and understanding blind spot awareness.

Are there any driving safety fundamentals that you think are often overlooked but are absolutely essential for road safety for new drivers?
