I'm trying to convert my mountain bike to a tubeless tire setup for the first time to get better traction and fewer flats on rough trails. I have compatible rims and tires, but I'm a bit intimidated by the process of getting the initial seal. For those who have done this conversion, what's your step-by-step method for seating the bead and ensuring a good seal? I'm particularly unsure about how much sealant to use, whether I need an air compressor or if a high-volume floor pump will work, and what to do if the tire just won't seat properly. Are there any specific tricks for dealing with stubborn sections of the bead, and how often do you typically need to add more sealant after the initial setup?
