I've been diagnosed with prediabetes, and my doctor advised me to overhaul my nutrition to manage my blood sugar. I'm feeling overwhelmed by all the conflicting information online about low-carb, glycemic index, and portion control. For others who have successfully managed prediabetes through diet, what was your practical, sustainable approach to meal planning and making better food choices? I'm not looking for a restrictive diet but rather a framework for building balanced meals that keep me full and energized. How did you navigate social situations and cravings, and what resources or tools did you find most helpful for tracking and understanding how different foods affect you?
Nice plan. I start with the plate method: fill half your plate with non-starchy veggies, a quarter with lean protein, and a quarter with whole grains or starchy veg. Add a little healthy fat and a fiber-backed snack, and you’ll stay fuller longer and avoid big sugar spikes.
