I'm seriously considering switching to an electric vehicle for my next car, but I have some practical concerns that are holding me back. I live in a colder climate where winter temperatures regularly drop below freezing, and I've heard that can significantly reduce battery range. I also take a few long road trips each year to visit family, which adds range anxiety into the mix. For current EV owners in similar situations, what has been your real-world experience with winter performance and long-distance travel? How do you plan your charging stops, and is the public charging infrastructure reliable enough for regular interstate travel? I'm trying to decide if the lower maintenance and fuel costs outweigh these potential inconveniences.
