I'm interested in starting a book club in my local area, but I'm unsure about the practical logistics. I want it to be welcoming and consistent, not fizzle out after a few months. Should we meet in a public space like a library or a cafe, or is rotating hosting at people's homes better for discussion? How do you select books that appeal to a diverse group without being too niche or too mainstream? For those in successful long-running book clubs, what's the ideal size, and how do you structure the discussion to keep it engaging without one person dominating? I'd also love advice on how to initially find members beyond just my immediate friend group.
