I was diagnosed with stage 3 endometriosis via laparoscopy two years ago, and while the surgery provided relief, my debilitating pain and heavy periods have returned. My gynecologist has suggested trying a GnRH agonist to induce a temporary medical menopause, but I'm terrified of the side effects like bone density loss and mood swings. I'm 32 and still hope to have children someday. For those who have navigated endometriosis treatment, what has been your experience with these stronger medications versus considering a second excision surgery? Are there specific questions I should be asking about preserving fertility while managing this disease long-term?
