I've been producing electronic music as a hobby for a couple of years, but my mixes always sound muddy and lack clarity, especially in the low end. I think my main issue is with mixing techniques for managing frequencies; I struggle with knowing exactly where to cut and boost with EQ on elements like pads, leads, and most importantly, getting my kick and bass to sit together without clashing. Are there any go-to strategies, like specific frequency ranges to target for common instruments or a reliable order of operations, that can help me build a cleaner, more professional-sounding mix from the ground up?
