Full Version: Is my main build viable after this patch with vague notes?

I just logged in after the latest major game update and my main character's build feels completely broken. The patch notes mentioned rebalancing several key skills and items I relied on, but the descriptions are vague, just listing percentage adjustments without context. I'm trying to figure out if my playstyle is now completely non-viable or if I just need to respec a few points and find a new piece of gear, but it's frustrating to have to experiment blindly. How is everyone else interpreting the changes and adapting their strategies?
Yep, patch meta can flip the script fast. Start by pinning down exactly what changed for your build and test in a couple of quick sessions.
Do a controlled A/B test: pick the exact scenario you use most (boss fight phase, or open-world combat) and run it twice—once with your old setup, once with a minimal respec that targets the affected area. Compare DPS, survivability, and how long you stay alive without retools.
I’d suggest focusing on a single thread of changes rather than trying to overhaul your entire build. If your weapon or core ability was nerfed, see if you can compensate with passives, a different skill path, or gear synergy that preserves your rhythm. Then give it 2–3 hours of play to see if the flow returns; if not, you might need a broader pivot.
What game and build are we talking about? PC or console? Which patch notes left you most unsure, and what part feels non-viable now?
Sometimes the changes reveal hidden options you didn't try before—like a secondary weapon or support skill that fits your style better. Try a small pivot and keep the core feel intact.
4-step quick plan: 1) map the changes to your build, 2) pick 1–2 areas to adjust, 3) test for 1–2 hours, 4) compare outcomes and decide to keep or revert.
