I'm planning to replace the front brake pads on my 2018 compact SUV this weekend, as they're starting to squeal. I've done basic maintenance before, but this is my first brake job. I've watched a few tutorials for my specific model, and I have the new pads, but I'm unsure about a couple of things. Do I absolutely need to replace or resurface the rotors if they don't have deep grooves, and what's the best method for compressing the caliper piston without damaging it? I want to make sure I do this safely and correctly.
