I'm a mechanical engineer designing a custom bracket for a high-vibration industrial application, and my initial prototype failed during testing. I'm trying to use finite element analysis to identify the stress concentrations and optimize the geometry, but I'm getting conflicting results between my static structural analysis and a subsequent modal analysis for resonant frequencies. I'm not sure if my mesh refinement is adequate or if I'm misapplying the boundary conditions for this dynamic loading scenario.
