With all the recent rumors and speculation about Grand Theft Auto VI, I'm trying to temper my expectations but it's hard not to get excited. The leaks from last year suggested a massive map and a return to Vice City, which sounds incredible. I'm curious what features from Red Dead Redemption 2's immersive world you think Rockstar will carry over, and what new online mechanics you hope to see that could evolve beyond GTA Online's current model.
Totally on board with the idea of a more living world. If GTA VI borrows from RDR2, I hope we get NPCs that have daily routines, seasonal events, and random ambient happenings you can actually interact with—not just spawn points. The density of detail in RDR2's world is what kept me hooked; even walking between places felt like part of a bigger story.
I'd love to see wildlife, hunting, and camping be more integrated into online play. In RDR2 the ecosystem was convincing; in GTA VI online, you could hunt for supplies, run a small camp, craft gear, and trade with other players. It would also give a reason to explore the map beyond railroading missions.
From a design POV, map variety and distinct districts were great in RDR2; I hope GTA VI offers varied biomes and towns with their own micro-economies and faction tensions. For online, a robust crew system with territories, shared upgrades, and PvE events that feel like 'story missions' but with unpredictable outcomes would be neat.
On the online side, I want less grind and more meaningful progression—like player-owned properties that unlock missions, dynamic world events (attack on a convoy, a treasure hunt), and player-driven story arcs that persist across sessions. GTA Online's model is good for instant action, but I'm craving narrative persistence.
Part of me worries about performance and how a big, dense world will run on last-gen hardware. If they can balance quality with stability and provide scalable settings, I'll be happy. Also hoping the heists and co-op missions get expanded, with more agency for players to shape outcomes.
Would you want more cross-platform or cross-game features, like bridging GTA Online with RDR2's ecosystem? Or maybe just a big map with more than enough content to justify the price; what feature would you pay for first—story-driven campaigns, PvE exploration, or robust online economy?
